Armenians protest in Freedom Square, Yerevan, on 24 April in light of the 1915 events.
While PM Tayyip Erdoğan was giving a speech on 24 April about the events of 1915, people protested in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan. The Armenian youth gathered at the Freedom Square and marched with torches in their hand in the name of genocide. This was accompanied by Yerevanian religious leaders holding up a big wooden cross. Apart from slogans against Turkey, some said, “Compensation, Recognition and Condemnation.” Students were burning Turkish flags during the protest.
